Koda Blade Company’s lightest and thinnest chef knife yet. This gorgeous 7.25” chef knife is made from AEB-L stainless-steel. This classic profile might be my favorite chef knife profile at the moment, with a gentle radius along the cutting edge it is designed to be both comfortable and functional as your go-to knife for most tasks in the kitchen. Featuring a full-tang handle construction with beautiful “Rainbow” Bastogne Walnut* handle (see below for more info) with black G10 liners and custom stainless-steel mosaic and black G10 pins. This knife comes with a soft storage case.
*Rainbow Bastogne Walnut is a rare, naturally occurring hybrid wood known for its dramatic streaking, high density and intense figure. It is considered one of the most valuable and visually striking hardwoods in the world.
The term “rainbow” highlights the presence of dramatic, varied grain patterns, including swirls, curls, fiddleback, marbling and “flame” figuring.
It is a natural cross between California Claro Walnut and English Walnut, however it grows faster and stronger than the parent varieties. It is significantly harder and heavier than either California Claro or English Walnuts, sometimes referred to as “ironwood walnut,” making it ideal for hard use, high-wear items. Found mostly in old California orchards, highly figured slabs are rare and highly prized.
